Aizawl: Meth pills worth over Rs 1 crore seized

Investigators found another consignment of 18,000 methamphetamine tablets on Monday.

As many as 40,000 tablets of methamphetamine and more than 10 kg of marijuana were reportedly seized in two seperate cases in Aizawl, an anti-narcotics official said Monday. A Myanmar national among two arrested, he added. The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the state’s Excise and Narcotics department on Saturday evening seized 20,000 tablets of methamphetamine from 45-year-old Lalhnuni, a resident of Tahan Group A in Myanmar. The seizure was made at the Falkland area of the city. During interrogation, Lalhnuni revealed that she has more stash of the narcotics in another location. Investigators found another consignment of 18,000 methamphetamine tablets on Monday. The two consignments have a market value of about Rs 1.33 crores.
