Advances spurned,man assaults girl,dies in bike crash on fleeing

Fuming at girl's temerity to reject his amorous advances,man tried to kill her,but ran foul of college staff.

A wanna-be lover lost his life when his motorcycle crashed as he was trying to escape after allegedly assaulting a girl in Ramabainagar district,police said here today.

Amar Singh attacked 24-year-old MA student Pratibha with a knife in a degree college in Raniya after she turned down his advances yesterday,they said.

The victim started bleeding profusely from her neck and called out for help,following which guards at the college gate and other students attempted to stop Singh from fleeing on his motorcycle,they said.

In the ensuing confusion,Singh’s motorcycle slipped and he was grievously injured,they said,adding,he succumbed to his injuries last night in a hospital.

Pratibha was admitted to a hospital,where her condition is said to be serious,they said.
