Activists urge Governor to order inquiry

A 10-member delegation of political leaders and activists from Maharashtra comprising Prakash Ambedkar,N D Patil,MLC Kapil Patil,Prakash Reddy and others met Governor K Sankaranarayanan at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai on Tuesday. They met him under the banner Samyukta Nirdhar Parishad and sought his intervention to bring the perpetrators of Narendra Dabholkar’s murder to justice. Saying that the accused hadn’t been arrested even 15 days after the incident,the delegation requested the Governor to ask the state to conduct a special inquiry into the matter. Ambedkar also requested the Governor to convene a special sitting of the state legislature to discuss the Anti-superstition Bill. Sankaranarayanan assured the delegation that he will discuss the issue with the chief minister.
