Claiming that the Abohar Municipal Council has sold public property,worth Rs 80 crore,to ‘high-profile’ people at the behest of influential Punjab politicians,four residents of the town moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday demanding a CBI probe into the alleged scam.

Claiming that the Abohar Municipal Council has sold public property,worth Rs 80 crore,to ‘high-profile’ people at the behest of influential Punjab politicians,four residents of the town moved the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Wednesday demanding a CBI probe into the alleged scam.

Since an appeal,filed by the Municipal Council,is pending in court,a division bench headed by Chief Justice Arjan Kumar Sikri tagged the PIL,filed on Tuesday,with the pending appeal on Wednesday. They will come up for hearing on April 23.
