As many as 75 cases of cheating were detected at the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) held on June 25 and 26.
An official spokesman said that 3,79,781 candidates appeared in the examination held in 13 districts of the state and Chandigarh on these two days. Flying squads had raided 532 examination centres and 75 cases of use of unfair means were detected. In a number of cases,earphone and bluetooth devices were used for cheating, he added.
Answersheets recovered from the candidates were totally different from the original ones,which proved that some anti-social elements had provided fake answersheets to candidates just to earn money, said the spokesman.
Meanwhile,two aspirants for teachers posts have been caught using cellphones during the HTET. In the first case,the Haryana Police has arrested one Parvinder for writing his exam with the help of a mobile phone in Rewari on June 26.
A spokesman said that Anup Rekha,superintendent at Center Number 24 for HTET examination in Rewari,had lodged a complaint with the police,following which Parvinder was arrested. He was produced in the court on Thursday,which has sent him to one-day police remand.
In another case,one Vikas was arrested for appearing for his exam with the help of a mobile phone concealed in his slippers in Faridabad on June 26. Balwant Kumar,superintendent at Divine Public School in Faridabad lodged a complaint with the police about Vikas a resident of Nandal in Rohtak. The police have registered a case against the accused under Section 420 of the IPC.
