Two persons have died due to dengue in Haryana even as its showpiece industrial and financial district Gurgaon registered the dubious distinction of reporting 325 confirmed cases out of the total 415 reported so far this month.
Panchkula reported 47 confirmed dengue cases while the remaining 54 were reported from others parts of Haryana,a state health department report revealed.
Two persons one each in Gurgaon and Rohtak have lost their lives due to dengue this month, an official spokesperson said,adding that last year,267 cases with three deaths were reported.
He said the health department has initiated various curative and preventive steps,including generating awareness about these measures through an information and educational campaign,to curb the disease. Fogging is also being carried out in and around 50 houses of every positive case of dengue.
All samples of suspected dengue cases are tested free of cost at 10 Sentinel Surveillance Hospitals (SSH) set up in Ambala,Faridabad,Gurgaon,General Hospital,Hisar,Medical College,Agroha,Hisar,Kaithal,Karnal,Kurukshetra,Panchkula and PGIMS,Rohtak.
