16-yr-old gangraped by five in UP

A case has been registered against the accused, who are currently absconding.

A 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by five youths at Miranpur town in the district, police said.

According to an FIR lodged by the victim’s sister, the five accused kidnapped the minor from her house on Saturday and took her to a nearby place where she was gang-raped.

The five are identified as Shakil, Javed, Wakil, Mintu, and Shadab, police said, adding, a case in connection with the crime has been registered against them.

The accused also threatened to kill the girl if she narrates the incident to anyone, they said.

The girl has been sent for medical examination.

The accused are absconding and efforts to nab them are on.
