10 held for property dealer’s death

The Jalandhar police on Sunday claimed to have solved the mystery behind the three-day old murder of property dealer Lehmber Singh,a New Hardyal Nagar resident who was killed by some unidentified people on June 19.

Police said that investigations have revealed that Singh’s partner,Bunty of Sheikhey village,was allegedly behind the murder and had enlisted the help of nine others. All ten have been arrested and police have recovered looted gold ornaments,Rs 12,000 and a Bolero vehicle used in the crime.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (North) Balkar Singh said the accused were identified as Narinder Singh alias Ladda of Kapulpur village,Ajay Gir of Santokhpura, Ravinder Kumar alias Vipan of Lamha Pind,Bunty of Sheikhey village,Maninder Singh alias Mannu of New Hardyal Nagar,Inderpal alias Bablu of Hoshiapur,Rajesh alias Chotu,and Harpreet alias Happy,both residents of New Hardyal Nagar and Gagandeep Singh alias Vicky of Shahpur village in Hoshiarpur. Chakkar was still at large.
