Suspected Naxals: Minor among labourers arrested in Pune

One of the eight MIDC labourers,arrested on the suspicion of being Naxalites in March,is a minor and additional sessions judge N P Dhote has directed the ATS and the prosecution to hand over his case papers to Juvenile Justice Board that will carry out the trial against him.

One of the eight MIDC labourers,arrested on the suspicion of being Naxalites in March,is a minor and additional sessions judge N P Dhote has directed the ATS and the prosecution to hand over his case papers to Juvenile Justice Board that will carry out the trial against him.

Two suspects — Vishwajeet alias Satyajeet Rana and Pintoo alias Tapan Mahato — had moved the court through their lawyers Asim Sarode and Vikas Shinde,seeking transfer of their case to the Juvenile Justice Board on grounds that they were minors. As per the attested copies of their birth certificates sent by the office of Block Medical Officer of Health of west Midnapur district,Rana was born in 1995 while Mahato was born in 1994.
