State signs MoU with pvt power producers

To deal with the prevailing power crisis in the state,the Haryana government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with four independent power producers for setting up of five biomass power projects of 51 MW capacities worth Rs 230 crore.

To deal with the prevailing power crisis in the state,the Haryana government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with four independent power producers for setting up of five biomass power projects of 51 MW capacities worth Rs 230 crore. Out of these,two projects are likely to be commissioned soon.

Saying that a Energy Conservation Fund had been created for execution of such programmes,a spokesperson of the renewable energy department added that a 6-MW hydro project (Rs 58 crore) in Yamuna Nagar’s Dadupur,2 MW project (Rs 22 crore) at Gogripur,1.4 MW project (Rs 16 crore) at Musapur and 1.4 MW project (Rs 16 crore) at Khukni — all in Karnal district — have started power generation.

“Besides,a 1.8 MW project at Meham Cooperative Sugar Mill,24-MW project at Shahbad Cooperative Sugar Mill,16-MW project at Rohtak Cooperative Sugar Mill and 2-MW project at Hafed Cooperative Sugar Mill,Asandh had been set up to produce power from the bagasse in sugar mills through cogeneration route,” he added.
