Denying any Chinese intrusion in Ladakh,Northern Army Commander Lt General B S Jaswal said that media reports about Chinese troops crossing over to this side were infact ”transgressions’’ as these were based upon each side’s own interpretation of its boundary line between the two nations.

”These transgressions continue,’’ he said talking to media persons at an ex-servicemen mela organized by the Army at Nagrota today. Pointing out that there is a boundary issue with China which is being dealt with the Ministry of External Affairs,he said that in view of the dispute both the sides come upto their own perceived boundary line.

Denying that such Chinese transgressions in Ladakh were the outcome of India’s week intelligence or week policy,Lt General Jaswal said that the Government of India has a very clear cut policy over the issue.

Chinese troops have stepped up ‘transgression’ into Ladakh area since 2008. Last year, they had even warned local shepherds not to come closer to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) and even stopped construction of a road near the border in the region.
