Hours before the state government suspended a nurse of Jalandhar Civil Hospital for dereliction of duty leading to the death of three-day-old infant,two unidentified women tried to make the family reach a compromise.
The women,claiming to be representatives of the hospital,reached the residence of Sanjiv Kumar,the father of the victim,on Friday morning and asked him not to pursue the case. They also told Kumar,who makes aliving by doing odd jobs of painting houses,to settle for a compromise.
“They told me that they were here on the behalf of the jalandhar Civil Hospital staff. They were carrying some documents,which they claimed had something pertaining to the compromise written on it. However,when I told them that I am not educated and will have to get someone from the locality to read the documents,they left in a hurry. They also took away the documents,” Kumar said.
Kumar,a daily wage labourer,is planing to file complaints against the hospital staff. He will also file a case against the two unidentified women who approached him for the compromise.
