Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray’s health is improving and he is likely to be discharged in a couple of days after some medical tests.

Union Agriculture Minister and NCP president Sharad Pawar and BJP president Nitin Gadkari were among those who visited Thackeray at Lilavati Hospital on Thursday. Pawar had met Thackeray last on July 13,along with Pranab Mukherjee while he was campaigning for Presidential election.

Nephew Raj Thackeray’s mother Kunda and wife Sharmila also paid him a visit in the evening. Raj had met Thackeray on Wednesday.

The Shiv Sena leader was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday following complaints of constipation and fever. He was shifted out of ICU on Wednesday and is now undergoing a few routine tests.

Dr Jalil Parkar,who has been treating Thackeray,brought out a health bulletin on Thursday evening,saying his condition had improved and he would remain in hospital for the next couple of days.

Gadkari,who is in Mumbai for a series of party events,earlier unveiled a wax statue of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in the city.
