Sources hinted on Thursday that many local bodies representatives who had put in their papers due to Naxal threat in some tahsils in the district will take their resignations back on Friday. There is likelihood of over 25 panchayat members and seven-eight sarpanchs returning to work, a senior official said. Three panchayat members of Etapalli have already taken back their papers, he added. Asked if the Naxal threat has weaned,he said,Thats partly the reason. But mainly we have discussed the issue with them and have assured them to solve their problems. Sarpanchs and panchayat members from Korchi tahsil,who had resigned en masse,had last month taken their resignations back.
