Will end Punjab drug problem in one month if elected: Rahul Gandhi

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday lead a protest in Jalandhar, Punjab against the growing drug menace in the state.

“Will join the mass protest in Jalandhar on Monday, 13th June, to highlight rampant drug abuse and collapse of law & order in Punjab,” Gandhi’s office tweeted earlier on June 10.

“If Punjab needs a better future, there is no other way but to stop drug menace,” he said during the protest.

He also lashed out at ruling Shiromani Akali Dal government and said that the party is not going to help if people in Punjab wanted to annihilate problem of drug abuse.

Also talking about the recent controversy related to bollywood movie Udta Punjab, Gandhi said that the ruling party was not ready to accept the reality.

Various Punjab Congress leaders including former Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh are present at the event.
