Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu Wednesday attacked students from Delhi’s JNU and Hyderabad’s HCU for organising “beef and kiss festivals” and “festivals celebrating Afzal Guru and Yakub Memon” on campuses. At the conference here, he said: “…You want to eat beef? Eat as much as you can… I have no problem. But why are you making it a festival in a university?”
Naidu also said such “turbulence” is visible in a handful of universities, and that “students of 735 out of 740 universities” were “fully engaged in academic activities”.
