Uproar in Madhya Pradesh House over Dalits’ plea for euthanasia

Congress raised the issue of 50 Dalit families from Budhni, the constituency of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who have sought permission for euthanasia.

TARGETING THE BJP government in Assembly Monday, Congress raised the issue of 50 Dalit families from Budhni, the constituency of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who have sought permission for euthanasia.

Alleging that musclemen encroached upon their land, the families have reportedly written to CMO, seeking permission to end their lives.

After Question Hour, Congress MLA Ramnivas Rawat said he had moved a calling attention motion on the families’ plight, which the Speaker said he would consider.

Congress MLA Jitu Patwari talked about the alleged suicide by a woman, who reportedly immolated herself with her five-month baby for lack of medical treatment.
