Top AP Red sandalwood smuggler in CID net

The smuggler allegedly is a kingpin of the red sanders smuggling operations for nearly 40 years in Seshachalam forests in Chittoor district.

Top Red sandalwood smuggler Gangi Reddy was arrested from his hideout in Mauritius by AP CID officers and brought to New Delhi in a special flight.

Reddy, the alleged kingpin of the red sanders smuggling operations, was allegedly involved in organising the operations for nearly 40 years in Seshachalam forests in Chittoor district, and forests of Kadapa in which red sanders trees were cut, transported to ports and smuggled abroad.

Gangi Reddy is being brought to Hyderabad from New Delhi today afternoon and will be taken to CID headquarters.
