Telangana: On a roll, TRS storms Congress bastion

TRS candidate Bhupal Reddy polled 93,076 votes to the 39,451 by the Congress candidate and 14,787 by the TDP nominee, Bhupal Reddy’s brother.

On a roll since it came to power in the new state of Telangana, the TRS wrested Narayanakhed assembly seat in Medak from the Congress Thursday, winning the bypoll with a massive margin of 53,625 votes.

TRS candidate Bhupal Reddy polled 93,076 votes to the 39,451 by the Congress candidate and 14,787 by the TDP nominee, Bhupal Reddy’s brother.

The Congress candidate, Sanjeeva Reddy, is the son of late P Kishta Reddy, the previous MLA in this Congress bastion.

The victory comes after the TRS won convincingly in the Warangal Lok Sabha bypoll and posted a landslide victory in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation polls.
