Techie arrested for peddling drugs via social media in Bengaluru

The techie was selling marijuana and other narcotic substances through a Facebook page called 'Bangalore cannabis,' the police said.

A 34-year-old software sector employee who was trafficking drugs via social media has been arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police in Bengaluru.

Susheel Kumar Moosad, a resident of Ramamurthy Nagar in East Bengaluru was using a Facebook page to attract buyers of narcotic substances, police have found. The police have seized six LSD blotter papers, one kg marijuana and a mobile phone worth Rs 30,000 from the employee of a software firm.

Moosad was selling marijuana and other narcotic substances through a Facebook page called ‘Bangalore cannabis,’ the police said.

The accused used to post details of available drugs and it’s prices on the Facebook along with his contact details for the benefit of his customers.

“We trapped him in Lumbini Garden area by contacting him in the garb of a customer ,” a police officer said. Police have found that Moosad himself is an addict to took to drug peddling to support his drug habits. He has been pushing drugs for nearly 16 years, the police said.
“Nearly 84 people in the city have subscribed to the Facebook page. Moosad was also hawking drugs through his personal Facebook account,” the police said.
