Salem SP Amit Kumar Singh apologises to the family of the deceased.
Salem police on Wednesday arrested a man who had uploaded morphed pictures of a 21-year-old woman on Facebook, which reportedly drove her into committing suicide, news agency ANI reports.
The photos were uploaded on Facebook several days ago but even after repeated complaints from the girl’s family, no strong action was taken by the police.

A Vinupriya, a science graduate, took her life after she was tagged in some morphed pictures of her.

Enraged because of police inaction, the girl’s parents and others protested outside Salem hospital on Tuesday morning. Later, it was also discovered that one police officer also took bribe from the girl’s parents to probe the case.
