IPS officer on deputation to NIA repatriated

Inspector General of Police (NIA) Sanjeev Singh said the officer had made a request for repatriation.

IPS officer Suhas Warke, who was sent to NIA on Central deputation in 2012, has been repatriated to his parent Maharashtra cadre. Warke, who former Special Public Prosecutor Rohini Salian had identified as the officer who asked her to “go slow” against the accused in 2008 Malegaon blast case, had sought repatriation in the first week of May after completing four years with the Central agency.

Inspector General of Police (NIA) Sanjeev Singh said the officer had made a request for repatriation, which was forwarded to the Union home department that decided to relieve him of his present responsibilities and repatriated him to the Maharashtra cadre.
