Indrani Mukherjea’s former driver, who recently turned approver in the Sheena Bora murder case, alleged that Bora was strangled by her mother inside a car on April 24, 2012.
In a 12-page statement, former driver Shyamar Rai claimed that Mukherjea’s ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna helped her in the murder. Rai said he covered Bora’s mouth while Khanna held her tightly, according to The Times of India.
Rai’s statement was handed over to Mukherjea’s husband Peter Mukerjea, who is also an accused, by the special CBI court.
“Indrani sat on top of Sheena and was strangling her. Sheena bit my finger. It was bleeding…,” Rai said in the statement.
Rai, who will depose as a prosecution witness, hasn’t named Peter in the statement.
Rai was granted pardon by a special CBI court on June 20 after he wrote to it last month seeking to turn approver and reveal “all he knew” about the murder conspiracy. The CBI had given its nod to Rai’s plea.
