THE Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has exhorted Maharashtra BJP ministers and legislators to lend support to various projects and programmes of the Sangh parivar.
In the second year of such an interaction between the government and the organisation, Sarkaryawah Bhaiyyaji Joshi Thursday interacted with over 70-80 legislators, including all BJP ministers and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, for about 30 minutes at Smruti Mandir premises of the organisation.
A senior BJP legislator said, “The idea is to get introduced and know each other’s views and expectations.”
Another legislator added, “Joshi said the RSS and the Sangh parivar have gained society’s acceptance for certain reasons, mainly the values and programmes they have been pursuing. So, attempts should be made to live up to those values and push those programmes.”
Asked if any specific programmes were sought to be pushed at the meeting, the legislator said, “There are many, like those in the field of education, tribals and other seva (social service) programmes. The Sangh naturally expects the government to help expand the outreach of those programmes.”
Among those present were senior Maharashtra ministers Eknath Khadse, Pankaja Munde, Vinod Tawde, Girish Bapat, Assembly Speaker Haribhau Bagde and a host of other Cabinet ministers and Ministers of State.
