A total of 27 boys and six girls, who were part of a rave party organised at a hotel in Ambala cantonment, were taken into custody by the police late Monday night.
According to the police, they received information about a rave party going on in a hotel near Vijay Ratan Chowk in Ambala. A raid was conducted around midnight by the police at the hotel.
The police found the youngsters in an inebriated condition. Hookahs were also found in the room where the party was going on. The windows of the hotel room were also covered with black paper.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Jashandeep Randhawa, said that the youngsters were creating a ruckus.
“We received information about the party and conducted the raid. Hookahs were found at the spot. Samples were collected by a food inspector to ascertain if drugs were being used. Excise department officials were also present,” he said.
The owner of the hotel, who was present in the premises, denied knowing anything about the party.
Some employees of the hotel were detained by the police for questioning.
A case under different sections of the Punjab Excise Act was registered. All the boys and girls involved were released on bail.
Once the results of the samples taken by the food inspector are received, further actions be taken, the police said.
