On the occasion of ‘Vijayadashmi’, Home Minister Rajnath Singh appealed to people to maintain peace and communal harmony. Speaking at a Dussehra function, he referred to the values of unity in diversity while stressing that criminal activities will not be tolerated.
“I appeal to the citizens to maintain calm, peace and harmony and contribute to strengthening this great nation. I reiterate the stand of government of no tolerance of any criminal activity.
Law enforcing agencies must act accordingly,” he said. The appeal comes in the wake of several incidents of violence over allegations of cow slaughter, alleged desecration of holy books and attacks on Dalits.
