Arunachal Pradesh rebels have said they could not meet Rahul Gandhi. Uttarakhand dissidents say Rahul has time to meet Kanhaiya Kumar and not them. Is there a disconnect?
For the first time, AICC functionaries have defined responsibilities. I have three states to look after and three secretaries working with me… The question of disconnect does not arise. Rahul Gandhi, on his part, instead of holding general durbars, now holds focused meetings. He feels that at durbars, people only praise him, complain about somebody or ask for something.

But why could the discontent in Uttarakhand not be tackled?
I have been telling leaders to reach out to others, MLAs who do not see eye to eye with you… The reasons for the discontent cannot always be tackled by the Congress president or general secretary.

But this complaint of Rahul not meeting leaders has always been there.
If somebody is saying he could not meet Rahul Gandhi for two years, it is absolutely wrong. He is attending meetings, visiting states regularly… Of course Rahul Gandhi will meet Kanhaiya Kumar. He will meet others also. He is the vice-president of the whole party, whole of India. You will tomorrow say why is he meeting people from Tamil Nadu and not of Uttarakhand. If you are unlucky, did not get time… come to me.

Is there a change in the style of functioning of the top leaders? That is the criticism.
We have won and lost elections. Previously too there used to be splits… Rahul does not mind criticism… In fact, there is a big change now… He is also available on email 24X7.
