The Aam Aadmi Party lashed out at the BJP and Delhi Police blaming them for the ‘physical attack’ on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday morning at the New Delhi Railway Station before boarding a train to Ludhiana. The AAP alleged that when Kejriwal was heckled by BJP workers, the Delhi Police “made no attempts to prevent it”.

“The Delhi Police had planted news across sections of the media that it was not going to provide security to Kejriwal during his five-day visit to Punjab. The events of this morning must be seen in the context of the Delhi Police’s open declaration that the CM would be unprotected. Is the Delhi Police leaking out sensitive information regarding the whereabouts of the CM to mischievous and potentially dangerous elements? How did BJP activists know minute details of Kejriwal’s itinerary and why did the Delhi Police officials behave like mute spectators?” an official statement by the AAP read.

“There appears to be collusion between the Delhi Police and BJP to expose the CM to attacks. At a time when AAP is constantly taking on powerful vested interests in the country, this is a very serious breach of security of an elected public official.”
