After External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar also raised the issue of JeM chief Masood Azhar with the Chinese leadership and told Beijing that there could be no differentiation when it comes to dealing with terrorists.
Earlier this month, China had prevented a UN sanctions committee from designating Masood Azhar as terrorist, citing that it did not meet the requirements of the United Nations Security Council.
A day after he returned from a five-day visit to China, Parrikar said he told the Chinese leadership that all terrorists are the “same” and that they should be dealt with in the same manner.
On the border dispute with China, Parrikar said that settling the Line of Actual Control (LAC) was the best possible solution and called for better communication. He said the hotline between the two Director Generals of Military Operations would “soon” be a reality.
