Referring to The Panama Papers, Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar has slammed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, saying “the ruling family has been exposed in its financial dealings in such a way that everybody is cursing them”.
The Al Qalam magazine of the Jaish-e-Mohammad has also praised “friend” China for “saving Masood Azhar” by blocking India’s move at the United Nations to put him on a list of global terrorists.
“When India and its paid agents were going after him, when Sharif government had registered a case against him in Gujranwala and was arresting his associates, when pro-India media (in Pakistan) was running a campaign against him, when supporting Masood Azhar inside Pakistan meant support for terrorism, China intervened and declined the Indian request to put him on the list of terrorists,” Qari Naveed Masood Hashmi has written in an article headlined ‘Moulana Masood Azhar se Darul Uloom Deoband Tak’ (from Masood Azhar to Darul Uloom Deoband).
Masood Azhar, in his column Rang-o-Noor, headlined Mazboot in the same magazine, refers to The Panama Papers in which the Sharif family figures: “The oppression unleashed by the (Pakistan) government is known to the Almighty and signs of punishment can already be seen. These days, the ruling family has been exposed in its financial dealings in such a way that everybody is cursing them.’’
“How unlawful are those who are killing and arresting people in the name of law is visible to the naked eye now. Veils have been lifted, so keep watching what will happen in future. The sighs of the oppressed and their ill wishes won’t go waste,” he writes.
Hashmi too refers to “the Almighty’s help” with China “saving Masood Azhar”.
“Despite a vicious propaganda not only by Delhi but the pro-India lobby in Pakistan and a particular section of pro-India media (in Pakistan), something happened that no one expected. In the United Nations, China refused an Indian request to put the leader of the banned Jaish-e-Muhammad, which operates in occupied Kashmir, Masood Azhar on the list of terrorists. As per a report, after the return of the team of Pakistani investigators from India, Masood Azhar’s name was dropped from the Pathankot attack case,’’ Hashmi writes.
“This is called Almighty’s help… if it was up to the pro-India lobby in Pakistan and the pro-India media outlets, they would have finished Masood Azhar by now. After the January 2 attack on the airbase in Pathankot, these experts and analysts who live in Pakistan and are part of a pro-India lobby had become more loyal than the king and had started a campaign against Masood Azhar and other jihadis,” he writes.
“In Shahbaz Sharif’s Punjab province, dozens of innocent Pakistanis were arrested on the basis of the Pathankot incident. Sharif’s police showed complete disrespect and barged inside the homes of religious activists for searches in Sialkot, Multan, Gujranwala, Lahore and Narowal. The entire nation was surprised when the FIR in Pathankot incident was registered in Gujranwala. Media even called Masood Azhar a double agent.”
“After the January 2 incident, we tried to explain to the Sharif government and media that until now, India has only named Masood Azhar, and how can they run a campaign against an honourable citizen of Pakistan only because of an allegation by India. They did not listen to us. Instead talk shows on private channels were turned into courts where Masood Azhar was being tried. Now after three months of investigation, it is proved that Masood Azhar had no connection to the Pathankot incident,” Hashmi writes.
