Odisha: 17 killed in lightning strikes

In Kendrapara district, three people were killed in lightning strikes at Keredagada village in Pattamundai block. One person was killed at Karanja village in Mahakalapada block in the district. In Bhadrak district, two were killed.

AT LEAST 17 people were killed and several injured in lightning strikes during a thunderstorm in Odisha’s coastal districts
of Kendrapara, Ganjam, Bhadrak and Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.

In Panchagan village of Sundarpada-Jatni road on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, three people were killed while one was killed at the Peace Pagoda of Dhauligiri.

In Hinjili block of Ganjam, four people were killed in lightning strikes.

In Kendrapara district, three people were killed in lightning strikes at Keredagada village in Pattamundai block. One person was killed at Karanja village in Mahakalapada block in the district. In Bhadrak district, two were killed.

In Ganjam district, two persons were killed at Pagala Baba Chhak and two others at Sikharpur village in Hinjili block.

In Khurda district, a woman was killed and three were injured at Diagan in Nirakarpur block while six persons were injured in lightning strikes at Totapada village in the same block. In Mayurbhanj district, two girl students of Rasgovindpur block were killed when while they were going to take a bath in the river.
