Northern Railway’s fog measure: From January 8 to March 1 next year, 21 trains cancelled

With maximum passenger rush for the Shatabdi, the railways has cancelled it only twice a week.

Anticipating foggy weather, the Northern Railway has decided to cancel some of the train services between January 8 and March 1, 2016. As many as 21 trains plying from Chandigarh or making a halt at the city’s railway station have been cancelled as per the schedule released by the Northern Railway.

With maximum passenger rush for the Shatabdi, the railways has cancelled it only twice a week. This includes 12005 New Delhi-Kalka train which will be cancelled for Mondays and Wednesdays, 12006 Kalka-New Delhi Shatabdi Express for Tuesdays and Thursdays and 12012 Kalka to New Delhi which will be cancelled for Tuesdays and Sundays.

While most of the trains have been cancelled for twice a week, the 12046 Chandigarh-New Delhi and 12045 New Delhi to Chandigarh have been cancelled for Thursdays from January to March 1, 2016.

Similarly, 12242 Amritsar-Chandigarh has been cancelled for Wednesdays, 12241 Chandigarh-Amritsar for Tuesdays, 12411. Two trains 12411 Chandigarh-Amritsar and 12412 Amritsar-Chandigarh have been cancelled for Fridays.

Among other train services which will be cancelled twice a week are 12231 Lucknow-Chandigarh, 15011 Lucknow Jn-Chandigarh, 15012 Chandigarh-Lucknow Jn, 12231 Lucknow-Chandigarh, 12312 Kalka-Howrah, 12311 Howrah-Kalka, 22925 Ambala-Kalka and 22926 Kalka-Ambala.
