A Mumbai court Wednesday issued a non-bailable warrant against Pankaj Bhujbal, son of arrested NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal, in the money-laundering case registered against him. The special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court issued the warrant against Pankaj and 33 others listed as accused in the case. “A non-bailable warrant is issued against accused number 3 (Pankaj) and accused numbers 16 to 49,” said Special PMLA Judge P R Bhavake.
The warrants were issued to the accused after the court took cognizance of the prosecution report — the equivalent of a chargesheet — filed by the Enforcement Directorate in the Maharashtra Sadan case, in which Chhagan Bhujbal and nephew Sameer are already in judicial custody.
