R K Chaudhary, a BSP founder-member who quit the party two weeks ago, received a shot in the arm with Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal (U) national president Nitish Kumar agreeing to address a public meeting that he has announced in Lucknow on July 26 on the occasion of Chatrapati Shahuji Maharaj’s birth anniversary.
Chaudhary, who heads the Bahujan Samaj Swabhiman Sangharsh Samiti, claims that the rally will be attended by his supporters, disgruntled BSP leaders and Mayawati detractors. Chaudhary had quit BSP on June 30 accusing party chief Mayawati of selling tickets.
Chaudhary said he had sent a letter inviting Nitish to the rally as chief guest and the Bihar CM has replied accepting the invitation. On possibility of an alliance with the JD (U), Chaudhary said any decision will be taken after the rally.
