More than half of the 1,200 outstation students, who had left NIT-Srinagar campus after the unrest, have returned since classes resumed Monday.
While an internal inquiry into the unrest is still on, the magisterial inquiry report has already been submitted to the government with recommendations. The magisterial report submitted by Srinagar’s Addl DC Nazir Ahmad Baba has also listed the reasons that led to the trouble on campus, sources said.
About the internal probe, Dean, Students’ Welfare, Dr Abdul Liman, said: “Students are still coming back… Few students have appeared before the disciplinary panel. Those who went home will be heard once they are back.” He said 727 outstation students had returned so far.
