Claiming that the NDA government has given a “clean” and “riot-free” India in the past two years, BJP’s national general secretary Ram Madhav Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will remain in power for 20 years.
“Narendrabhai will not be going out before 20 years… People are themselves saying this. Surveys have been conducted after the completion of two years (of Modi government) and people are saying that they want Modi as PM once again,” said Madhav, while addressing a gathering of BJP workers at the municipal grounds in Mehsana, which was the epicentre of violent agitation by the Patidars for OBC quota.
“This government has completed only two years and there are three more years to go… but, just after the second year, 70 per cent people want Modi government once again. We have set an example before the country by giving a clean government during the last two years,” he said. He was attending “Vikas Parv” event, which was organised to take the Modi government’s achievements to the masses.
Listing important achievements of the Modi government, the BJP leader said: “We have provided two years of riot-free India. If riots have happened, it has occurred in Uttar Pradesh where the ruling party (Samajwadi Party) orchestrated riots for political gains. Otherwise, the entire country is walking on the path of peace.”
Talking about the formation of BJP government in Assam, the party leader said, “Hardly 15 days have passed after our government took charge of Assam and the Home ministry officials have already reached Assam to seal the border with Bangladesh. By the end of this year, Assam’s border with Bangladesh will be fully sealed and not a single infiltrator will be able to crossover to India.”
Stating that the BJP government has worked for the people during the last two years, Madhav said, “It is not only the Prime Minister who has a 56-inch chest, but all our cabinet ministers have 56-inch chests because they have worked for this nation.”
Meanwhile, addressing the gathering, Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu threw some light on the work style of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Our Prime Minister always keeps on working. He does not take holidays and so we also do not get any. Everybody is working.”
Talking about the foreign tours undertaken by the PM, Prabhu said Modi does not visit countries as a tourist. “He does not go to Paris to see the Eiffel Tower, he does not go to London to see the Buckingham Palace, to the USA to see the White House or China to see the Great Wall. He goes to execute the foreign policy and benefit of the nation,” the Union minister added.
