Union Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma Thursday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the “biggest tourism ambassador” of the country.
“The biggest tourism ambassador of our country today is our Prime Minister. Sometimes the members of the opposition accuse him of being an NRI PM, but it is true that after Independence, Modiji has taken India’s image to new heights,” Sharma said while speaking at a session on tourism on day one of the Resurgent Rajasthan Summit here Thursday.
He also said that if he makes a comparison between Rajasthan, his state of birth, and UP, from where he is an MP, Rajasthan fares better. “Everybody has got emotional attachment to their homeland. This is not only my birthplace but I studied here till Class X and moved to UP. When I compare Rajasthan with UP, I see a change, and not for the positive side, when I look towards UP. I feel proud to be born in Rajasthan,” he said. Sharma is an MP from Gautam Buddh Nagar in UP.
