Gujarat-based NDDB chairman Nanda Kumar resigns

A Bihar cadre IAS officer of the 1972, Nanda Kumar had retired in 2010 and was later appointed as the chairman of NDDB on March 3, 2014.

T Nanda Kumar, the chairman of Anand-based National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), has resigned from his post on Thursday. Nanda Kumar was the third chairman of this prestigious institution that was headed by Dr Verghese Kurien (1965-1998) and Dr Amrita Patel (1998-2014).

A Bihar cadre IAS officer of the 1972, Nanda Kumar’s resignation was accepted by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet with immediate effect from August 1, 2016, an order issued today by Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) said. No official reasons were cited by Nanda Kumar before resigning. Nanda Kumar had retired in 2010 and was later appointed as the chairman of NDDB on March 3, 2014.

The additional charge of the post of chairman, NDDB has been entrusted to the senior-most whole-time director of the Board until the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post, stated an order issued Wednesday.
