A DAY after the police recovered a vehicle carrying six animals, including a dead cow, in Rampur police station area in Saharanpur district, a mob allegedly led by BJP supporters torched the seized vehicle at the Malipur police outpost where it was parked.

Even though the occupants of the vehicle had escaped, the police managed to rescue three cows and two buffaloes and handed them over to the local villagers.

SHO, Rampur police station, Anil Tyagi said, “A mob of nearby villages led by BJP workers arrived at the Malipur outpost around 11 am and before the policemen present there realized their intention, they had torched the vehicle while raising slogans.”
