HARYANA CHIEF Minister Manohar Lal Khattar informed the Haryana Vidhan Sabha Wednesday that the state government, apart from constituting an SIT to probe the incident of rape, dacoity and double murder that took place at Dingerheri village of Mewat district on August 25, has also provided a compensation of Rs 3 lakh to the aggrieved family along with a job to one member of the family.
He added four accused persons in the case have been arrested on August 28. “Recommendation for trial by a Fast Track Court will be made after completion of investigation,” he said.
The Chief Minister was speaking on the concluding day of the monsoon session of Haryana legislative assembly while replying to a calling attention notice of leader of opposition Abhey Chautala.
Khattar informed the House that there are a total number of 14,000 posts of police personnel lying vacant and the government is soon going to fill those posts. He also said that more Mahila Thanas are being set up to ensure safety of women and around 25,000 complaints have been received in the Mahila Thanas out of which around over 80 percent have been decided.
Khattar claimed that though the law and order situation in the state had continuously deteriorated from 2005 to 2014 during the previous Congress regime but during the last 22 months of the BJP government, the law and order situation has improved.
He said that during the period from 2005 to 2014, an average increase of 11.2 per cent occurred in the state crime record whereas during the year 2015, the rate of increase was only 0.32 per cent and during the year 2016 upto July 31, 2016, the crime rate decreased by -0.08 per cent.
