Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said there was anger in the nation following the terrorist attack in Uri, Jammu and Kashmir which left 18 jawans dead. “Those responsible for Uri attack will not go unpunished,” Prime Minister Modi said, adding that he had huge respect for the Indian Army and had full faith in them. “Peace, unity and harmony are the ways to resolve problems and move towards development,” Modi said in a message to Kashmiris.
Prime Minister Modi also praised Indian athletes at the Rio 2016 Paralympics for bringing glory to the nation. In his address, Modi also spoke about the government’s efforts in sanitation and waste management, urging people to focus on building toilets and keeping the nation clean. As the nation celebrates Gandhi Jayanti on October 2, Modi urged Indians to conduct cleaning drives and requested them to send in their pictures and videos to him, through his App.
He was addressing the nation in his monthly radio address.
