
A fire broke out during the Maharashtra Night at Mumbai’s iconic Girgaum Chowpatty beach during a lavani performance. The fire erupted when sparklers were lit during a dance performance on stage.
The entire stage went up in flames within minutes, leading to immediate evacuation. All dignitaries, including CM Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray, Governor Vidyasagar Rao, several film personalities and foreigners were evacuated.

Fourteen fire engines are currently attempting to douse the fire. The first engine made its way into the pavilion almost ten minutes after the fire spread. According to Wizcraft crew, no casualties have been reporter yet. All backstage performers were immediately rushed outside in minutes after fire spread.
