After being off the shelves for more than 6 months, India’s popular instant-noodles Maggi is back in retail outlets with Nestle resuming sales in about 100 cities.
Earlier in May this year, nearly about 8 variants of the noodles have been under the FSSAI’s radar after ‘non-permissible’ levels of lead and arsenic were found by the food safety agency. However, the food departments in UK and Canada approved the product as safe for consumption and retailers in Pakistan claimed the sales were unaffected by reports of contamination in India.
