LOCAL MEMBER of Parliament Kirron Kher on Saturday listened to the problems of residents of city at her office in Sector 8.
Office-bearers of various associations also met Kher and submitted a memorandum regarding their problems. She gave a personal hearing to every person and patiently listened to their problems and assured them that it will be taken up with departments concerned of the UT Administration.
During the public darbar, a large number of handicapped persons complained to the MP that they were being harassed by the office of Deputy Commissioner as well as social welfare in the cases relating to booth allotment under handicapped quota.
The MP immediately contacted the DC and directed him to get their problems sorted out. The delegation of contractual computer teachers requested for enhancement of their salaries by adopting equal pay for equal work formula corresponding to regular employees. A group of panchayat members from different villages appreciated the efforts made by the MP for taking care of villages in the process of development. They discussed their problems with MP and demanded that public darbars on the pattern of Dhanas Rehabilitation Colony also be conducted in all villages of UT Chandigarh to solve their problems. The MP assured that she would make every possible effort to get their problems resolved.
