Following the detention of six persons from Kerala by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) allegedly linked to the Islamic State organisation on Sunday, the investigative agency on Monday detained another person belonging to Kerala in Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu. The detention comes following the interrogation of the six who were arrested earlier.
The NIA had earlier on Sunday said,”Information was received that some youths from Kerala and Tamil Nadu along with their accomplices have entered into a criminal conspiracy to commit terror acts by collecting explosives and other offensive material to target important persons and places in various parts of south lndia.”
No link has been established between the ones detained recently and those 22 who left for IS-controlled Nangharhar in Afghanistan.
Further details are awaited
