Kerala government will dispatch 10,000 kg of bleaching powder and 10,000 medical gloves to flood-hit Chennai as per the request of Tamil Nadu Government.

Kerala CM’s office said the state government is willing to rush any form of aid, including medicines and medical teams, to Chennai.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has already written to his Tamil Nadu counterpart J Jayalalithaa expressing the state’s willingness in this regard.

Previously, Kerala had sent 1.5 lakh chapatti made in two central prisons in the state to Chennai.

Besides, several voluntary organizations, media houses and business groups in Kerala have joined the relief efforts by sending bottled water, food and other necessary items.
