A day after JNU sent a notice to Anirban Bhattacharya for his alleged participation in the screening of a film, Muzaffarnar Baaqi Hai, last August, the university Friday issued a similar notice to rusticated student Umar Khalid.
“A complaint against you was received by the chief proctor’s office in August, 2015. It has been alleged that you were involved in participation in screening of a documentary-film… without permission of the administration. You are directed to appear before the proctor on May 4 and explain your position…,” said the notice.
Reacting to it on Facebook, Umar said, “…It took you nine months to wake up from your slumber and realise this great ‘indiscipline’ on our part… Is it a simple coincidence that the authorities chose to send this notice to us, when we are already into a movement…?”
