JNU row: Maoists demand Kanhaiya Kumar’s release

When contacted, Sandip Patil, superintendent of police, Gadchiroli, said, “It is a strategy of Maoists to create unrest against the government.”

The Communist Party of India (Maoist) has issued a press release condemning the arrest of JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar on charges of sedition.

A press release issued by Shrinivas, believed to be a PRO for the CPI (Maoist), demands Kanhaiya’s immediate release and calls his arrest a conspiracy by Hindu fascists. The release also claims the arrest is based on a doctored video.
