A 22-year-old was killed in Srinagar Saturday and another critically injured as protests erupted across the Valley following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit. The J&K government has ordered a magisterial probe into the killing.

Gowhar Ahmad Dar died after he was hit on the head by a teargas shell. The incident took place when police were trying to control protesters, who were pelting stones on the Srinagar-Baramulla highway. The protesters also targeted vehicles ferrying people back from Modi’s rally, leaving more than 20 injured.
