J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti Wednesday filed her nomination papers from south Kashmir’s Anantnag seat, that goes to polls on June 19. The seat had fallen vacant after the demise of her father and former J&K CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
“You trusted my father and voted for him. I am hopeful you will repose the same faith in me…The development of the constituency will be my priority. My father had a vision for Anantnag, I will try to fulfil that…,’’ Mehbooba told PDP workers.
Independent MLA Engineer Sheikh Rashid also filed his papers. The Congress and NC are working overtime to make it a tough fight for Mehbooba, who has never lost an Assembly poll.
